TEACHING EXPERIENCE 

Visual Arts Teacher—MS 104, Manhattan, New York (2023 to present) • Develop curriculum and teach drawing and painting to grade 7 students including ICT, ENL, and self-contained special education classes and gifted student populations. Units include drawing, painting, design, color theory, and portfolio development. Develop curriculum and teach Advanced Arts Elective class to grade 8 students. Units include self portrait, still life, life drawing, acrylic painting, and watercolor painting. Assist in students’ application process for specialized arts high school and portfolio development. Coordination of student art accepted in the annual city-wide arts competitions: PS ART, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Manhattan Borough Arts Show, at The Shed. Assist students applying to summer NYC DOE arts bootcamp programs. Curate and install in-school end of year arts show featuring art work from all students.

Visual Arts Teacher, Sculpture—PS / IS 206, Brooklyn, New York (2017 to 2023) • Develop curriculum and teach 3-D sculpture, mural-painting, 2-D drawing, and digital art lessons to K through grade 8 students including collaborative and self-contained special education classes and gifted student populations. Units include sculpting, clay modeling, collage, drawing, painting, design, color theory, and multi disciplinary installation. Disney Grant Arts Team— responsible for grant writing, set design, props, and makeup for student musical productions. Arts Ambassador— representing school in district-wide monthly meetings. Curate and install in-school art shows and applications for district 22 arts exhibitions. Lead coordinator with Puppetry in Practice arts program, equity team member, spirit events leader, grant writer and founder of middle school GSA club. 

Adjunct Instructor—New York University, High School Summer Art Intensive (2015 to 2017) • Taught ceramics and mold-making classes for pre-college students. Developed curriculum, led critiques, curated and installed shows. 

Student Teacher, Visual Arts—Clinton School For Writers and Artists, New York (2017) • Middle / High School with an integrated arts curriculum. Developed and taught 7th and 8th grade ceramics unit. 

Student Teacher, Visual Arts—PS 69K, Brooklyn, New York (2016 to 2017) • Developed curriculum and taught lessons to K to 5 classes in drawing, painting, collage and 3D design.
